Wayne County women "wine down" downtown



Tuesday was a night of girl power in Downtown Detroit, as Michigan's own Madonna brought her world tour to Ford Field and just a few blocks away, Wayne County women lawyers were "wining down" at an event hosted by the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan's newly resurrected Wayne Region at Centaur Bar.

After five years of dormancy, the Wayne County faction of the organization re-established itself late last year, electing Lynne Pierce, recently elected Wayne County Circuit Court judge, to serve as president.

Judge Pierce has been a member of Women Lawyers since her law school days and said the cause has always been close to her heart.

Pierce said the group's goal for its first year back was to organize a few social events to help establish a membership base.
